The best time to come down and enjoy the fun is during the Stone Crab Festival. About once each month they have a really big weekend event in Key Largo. The Stone Crab Festival is about as good as it gets for live music, food and cocktails! We come down for the events and then we end up doing other things like beach hunting! There's a great spot at mile Marker 88 to Hit the Beach and the bar at the same spot. Your perfect getaway must include lots of quality time by the waterfront. This is one of the most scenic parts of the islands, ready for Splash Play and seafood. Marker 88 restaurant is excellent and we recommend it for everybody. This year we decided to stay at the Breezy Palms Resort, a beautiful place. The beach pleasures are one of the benefits of staying at the breezy palms is the nice beach area located at the edge of the marina. We spent a lot of time at Key Largo Beach and Pennekamp Park. This is a winner for stopping on the way down into the Florida Keys. Have fun for an hour or two, plus the snorkel tour boats go out from here.
