Jack's on the Waterfront

Jack's on the Waterfront

The food you get here in the Florida Keys keeps us coming back over and over again. It is so easy to pop right down US Highway One from Miami. The people of Key Largo, Homestead, and South Miami-Dade County make this restaurant one of the most popular on the island. People come right up and park their boat on the docks that are located next to the seating areas. Watch the boaters come in while you dine on Conch Fritters!

Quick Escapes for Seafood Treats

We travel down from Miami to take advantage of the bevy of shops and restaurants in Key Largo. It sure makes for a great day trip, the water here is very nice. This is the spot for Florida Keys Conch Fitters, so crunch and delicious. We also like to hit the all you can eat tacos at Frijole's, near downtown.

Old-School Watering Hole

We had just gotten down to the top of the Florida Keys and took Card Sound specifically to stop by Alabama Jack's. Our friends live in Big Pine Key and they suggested this as the Best Upper Keys Restaurant. As soon as we walked in it was clear, our first heaping dose of Florida Keys charm was here. The small town and waterfront ambiance is such a pleasant mix.

Upper Keys Boating Bar

You can pull up by boat here from lower Key Largo, Kendall and South Dade. Makes a super trip with a decent speed kind of boat. Nice fishing zone.

Monday lunch specials at the Waterfront Cafe

Got one of the Monday lunch specials, the Turkey Bayou Sandwich. A fine mix of grilled sausage and oven roasted turkey breast with bold mustard, sliced tomatoes, lettuce, green pepper, red onions, and Swiss cheese warmed pressed on ciabatta roll. Love the live music and the boat ramp access here next to the Card Sound Bridge. There is a boat ramp on each side.
