This is one of the top bar and restaurants in the area, and Islamorada has a series of excellent dining spots. Here we are in love with the lobster dishes. They have one that is steamed cooked and topped with sauteed shrimp and scallops...Plus: mushrooms, scallion, spinach, cashews and lemon caper sauce. It is just so yummy!
One of the best around Islamorada and is consistently in the running for the Overall Best Restaurant in the Florida Keys. Enjoy a whole bunch of great house seafood and steak specialties.
You can order from the raw bar or the huge menu filled with seafood recipes. I have give my vote for the Shrimp Tempura with tempura batter, island rice, sauteed vegetable medley, and jalapenos. The Conch Ceviche is key lime marinated conch with a mixture of tomato, cilantro, onions, red pepper, bell pepper, key lime vinaigrette, and tortilla chips.
They do a nice job with the Yellowtail Snapper, which is the year round easy catch in the Keys. Very tasty fillet of fish. You can cook it lots of ways, just use key lime juice & lots of Fresh Seafood herbs. Here they top it with pink shrimp, fresh asparagus or your veggie pick. The fresh spinach with lemon is a nice mix with seafood too.
For lunch, dinner, or breakfast we would recommend the Village Gourmet Restaurant. We stayed at the Islander and got to know all the bars and restaurants on this part of the island. You can eat Italian Dinner Dishes and we love pasta. Got the Spaghetti Puttanesca (Sauce of roasted tomatoes, capers, black olives, anchovies, roasted Peppers and red onions) and the more traditional Chicken Marsala (Chicken breasts grilled and sauteed with mushrooms and marsala wine). All top notch.
I got the Blackened Chicken Aruba, but they have lots of Blackened Seafood. My craving was for a nice boneless chicken and they do it right with lots of cajun spices. They cook the chicken in olive oil, with a bunch of veggies and mushrooms. Very yummy.
