This place puts it all together in style, and the recipes are authentic. We have to recommend Mr Z's Cafe for the prime time stromboli. Oh yes, the dough is pure classic italian bread dough and then they fill them up with with various cheeses, jalapenos, italian meats, and fresh vegetables. This is Key West's long standing number one stromboli creating restaurant!
Down from Orlando and we were so glad to find a restaurant that could whip up some serious Meatball Stromboli. The guys behind the counter are a hoot, and very professional but with laughter.
The Meatball Stromboli Recipe came from old roots with homemade meatballs smothered with fire-roasted island style marinara, fresh basil, spices, and melted parmesan, romano and mozzarella cheese. They do not skimp on goodies and then wrapped in homemade dough. We give them top prize for Key West Stromboli.
I like to do the take out pizza and subs here. Over at Vito's we stay and sit down and eat in the patio cafe area. I like for the sub the Portabella Mushroom Sub served on a ciabatta roll with mixed field greens, roasted red Peppers, onions and fresh mozzarella. And for my pizza vote it is the Hawaiian Pizza loaded with bacon, capicola, pineapples chunks, jalapenos, and red onions.
