I would say that the water around the Florida Keys is the best place for boating in all of the state. It was a pleasure being able to use the dry slips during the vacation stay.
The best two places to go boating and all of Florida are the Florida Keys and that area around Sanibel Island and Matlacha. You want to take advantage of it while you're down here, at least one day. It is important to know where you're going to get your fuel, supplies if you need them, and of course any boating equipment that might be necessary. I do like Kayaking, and that's A good Thing to Do if you don't feel like boating.
Do not miss Harry Harris Park in Key Largo. Thank goodness for Tavernier creek and the boat access, as that cut through channel is the only way to get to The Other Side on the lower end of Key Largo. I love this Community Park, you can use the boat ramp to get out to the reefs. For the snorkelers or scuba divers, the closest reef buoys are at Molasses Reef. What a fun zone, we now would recommend the area to all.
