The Reef in Marathon

The Reef in Marathon

This was a great choice and we did not even know just how super the Marathon area is for cool-play-fun. We liked the location for doing things on the bicycles. Just up from the hotel is a super ride to Key Colony Beach, with some nice Family Friendly Bars. Going down the bicycle pathway is the main city center attractions and more to the Seven Mile Bridge. You can just use the kayaks and the bicycles to have fun and the car stays parked shaded under your unit. The hotel Kayak Launch area is the best, making it easy for any age to paddle. We spent mega time along the Shoreline and in the Nice Swimming Pool. I think it is the perfect place to stay for a week. Vacation trips are best when Bicycle Riding distance to pleasures. Give the location a top billing for being so centrally located.

Center of the Island

Plan on having A really good Time if you book your vacation here at the Reef Resort. I so much to like being in the center of this ten mile long island. We use the bicycles to travel around and go to the attractions. It does not take that long at all to ride your bicycles to either end of the island, including to Key Colony Beach. The kayak launching area in the center of the complex by the swimming pool is fantastic. We've stayed at a few places where getting in the kayak or getting out of the kayak becomes a nightmare. They have pretty much thought of everything including being able to park your car in the shade. Boater friendly it is for any medium-size boat, even a pretty big one. From the back of the hotel you go to the right and make the trek out into the ocean via the vaca cut waterway. It takes only maybe five or ten minutes to get to the channel and then maybe thirty more minutes to get out to the reef buoy. It is worth the expense to buy a water map if you're going to do a lot of boating in the area.
